STAY SAFE & HAVE FUN!
The big news come Friday wasn’t a tech-bubble burst or election campaign scene. It was a software update glitch that took down everything from airlines to credit card companies…as well as the US markets! For the week, the major US stock market indices posted mixed performance (i.e., DJIA: +0.72%, S&P 500: -1.96%, Nasdaq: -3.65%) with the tech-heavy Nasdaq hardest hit. How should we proceed from this point? Cautiously! And that is the word from the wise at Argus in their Economic Commentary below.
With one US political party convention out of the way and one more to go, many eyes have focused on “what happens if?” In this week’s Highlights & Commentary we have two research pieces: Capital Group’s “How elections move markets in 5 charts” and Neuberger Berman’s “High-Vol Politics, Low-Vol Markets.” We think you will find these readings very interesting.
Below are links to a number of third-party research reports that we have read and analyzed over the past week. We hope you will find the information interesting, useful, and worthwhile.
