STAY SAFE & HEALTHY!
It truly is like watching paint dry! All three major US stock market indices were down negligibly for the week (i.e., DJIA: -0.23%, S&P 500: -0.10%, Nasdaq: -0.42%). In fact, the broad market S&P 500 hasn’t produced much of a return since the January 2023 resurgence—needless to mention, the past two years. However, 1Q2023 earning per share announcements have come in slightly higher than estimates albeit lower year-over-year. It’s not hesitation that kills the cat (or market). It’s the uncertainty surrounding the debt ceiling, interest rates, and recession that seems to be clouding the skies! Our first three links below provide tremendous insight on those topics.
If you wish to escape redundancy in the US, click the Franklin Templeton link below regarding China’s consumption. It is a fascinating read.
